Architecture
Eyssenstad boasts a very industrial architecture, some even call it Brutalist. The city centre and the working class neighbourhoods are built in the so-called Eyssenstäder Stil, showcasing the building materials and exposed concrete with a minimal colour palette (although street artists have been working on rectifying this for decades).
The advantage of low-cost living space, if a bit utilitarian, and very functional buildings and their overall simplicity stands in stark contrast to the industrial parks on one side and the Old Town on the other.
