The Gabha R-15, was a straight-pull bolt action operated rifle with a six shot integral box magazine loaded by an en bloc clip. Theoretically, a rifleman can fire 30 to 35 shots within a minute from this weapon. The round left the muzzle at 630 m/s.
The R-15 was 1.05 metres long, with a barrel-length of 543 millimetres, and weighted 3.4 kilograms. It fired 8x57mm Gabha Cartridges. Under the muzzle, a bayonet could be attached. The R-15 could fire rifle-grenades.
Mostly used by cavalrymen, the R-15 was phased out in the 50s and 60s, some still used by private security firms and Sharpshooters, both of the SDF-Army and of the Armies of the Five Deserts, as well as of different police services. It was replaced by the Gabha RI-3.
