The Gabha G-80 76mm Gun was a short-barreled anti-tank and infantry gun introduced into service in 1944. From 1960 onwards, they were used in the Faolchú Armoured Personnel Carrier, then freshly introduced. During the same time, the G-80 was also adapted as the new main armament of the Mealltach Mark II in 1963. The G-80 was decommissioned as an infantry gun in 1963, as a vehicle gun in 1980. It replaced the Gabha G-18 47mm Anti-Tank Gun.
