The Icy Shore is a cultural landscape of the Free Lands, in particular along the northern shore of the Mainland. Usually, the Icy Shore is defined as going from the Nosey in the west over Launceston to Crarae in the east, bordered in the south by the Silver Mountains and by the Áth River, which flows through Wadebridge.

Generally speaking, the Icy Shore is dominated by a Humid Continental Climate, Dfb on the Köppen Climate Scale, with relatively warm summers, long and cold winters and high precipitation year around.

Biodiversity
Many areas along the Icy Shore are defined by temperate grasslands, but especially along the Nosey, temperate and evergreen forests dominate the landscape. Oaks, including the Great Woods Oak, firs, pines, chestnuts (the Nosey Chestnut Tree) and spruces can be found there. Hazelnut Trees have been introduced around Crarae.

Culture
Cuisine
Oats are the most-grown grain in this region, cows and sheep the livestock of choice, supplemented by fish and seafood. Cabbages, leek, carrots and onions are the vegetables of choice, berries are both collected and cultivated, including strawberries and blackberries. Several large apple orchards dominate the landscapes near Crarae.
Herbs for spicing and healing are grown and collected as well, including, but not limited to, horseradish, dill, coriander and thyme.
The inhabitants of the towns, cities and villages along the Icy Shore also brew a whiskey from oats, which is known for its rich and creamy finish. They also brew Spiorad na Bainne, a light milk-spirit made from fermented cow or sheep milk.
