The Pattern N Frigate is the newest frigate of the Sultan's Navy, introduced into service in 2000. Due to the high degree of automation, the Pattern N Frigate can be operated with less crew then many ships of compareable size.
The Pattern N Frigate is equipped with 140 VLS-shafts in three groups, one main group of thirty shafts, and two side-groups of fifty-five.
The shafts of the side-groups are short and small, only for surface to air missiles, usually filled with Kyrenaian Aircraft Factories Ammunition Subdivision KAFASD-13 Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missiles, one in each shaft for a total of missiles.
