The Sócúlagh Inn of Fortham is an inn close by the Scuab Campus of the University of Fortham, with which the inn cooperates to give exchange and foreign semester students cheap accomodations (in the 2021 Summer Trimester, the exchange students even got to live at the Sócúlagh Inn for free).

Employees usually either wear maid uniforms or butler uniforms, depending on the gender and preference. The uniforms were made by Bicíní Industries.

Current owner is Leonard Sócúlagh of the Tribe of Antrim, his daughter Fiona Sócúlagh of the Tribe of Antrim works in the inn as Head of the Maid Corps.

Location

In front of the Sócúlagh Inn, the Sócúlagh-Street runs as one of the traffic axles of the city. The Sócúlagh-Street runs from the north to the south, the inn is on its eastern side, the western side of the building exposed to the street. The Scuab Campus only a stone's throw away. To the north, a small side street leads to the Scuab-Canal, one of Fortham's many canals, which runs along the eastern side of the building. A small dock allows access to the waterway.

Following the Sócúlagh-Street to the north leads to the Sócúlagh Tram Station, which leads into the rest of the city, including the Main Railway Station and from there, into the world (or, if that is wished, to the Iris Boarding School Complex).

Architecture

The Sócúlagh Inn is a typical Selkie-Inn, a large building complex with a large, open inner courtyard. Sitting on the Sócúlagh-Street, the building has a massive foundation of stone, on which the ground floor is built in stone. On that ground floor, three more storeys and a roof with shingles of slate sits. The three upper storeys are built of timber and brick in traditional half-timbering techniques.

The ground floor is dominated by function rooms, the reception desk, stables and garage, as well as the kitchens and storages (which extend into the basement). The Inn Main Hall is in the ground floor as well, while a secondary bar, the Gualchró (or Coal Bunker) is in the basement.

The Inner Courtyard can be accessed from the street, a large portal allows even larger cars access and garage spots are available as well. The ground is cobbled.

The Western Side of the building is cut off from the rest, mainly due to the employee's flats being there, an offer used especially by the younger employees. Meanwhile the attic is a storage space as well, mostly for non-perishable goods, but on the Eastern Side, a side has been established with roof suites, which are for especially adventurous guests.

The first floor on the Eastern Side is dominated by conference rooms and private meeting rooms, while on the Northern Side of the same room, a small library and several sitting rooms allow for sitting and reading in a relaxed atmosphere.

Rooms for guests usually consist of a bedroom with a comfortable bed, a desk with a chair and a wardrobe. A small bathroom with a shower is directly adjacent. Some rooms have small oriel windows.
