The Sinaljanah S-820 Strategic Airlifter is a strategic airlift aircraft built by Sinaljanah Aircraft Industries. It was originally introduced in 1967, shortly after the end of the Decolonization Wars, and has since seen use in all larger military and disaster relief operations of the Armies of the Five Deserts and the Sultan's Navy.

Currently, a replacement aircraft is in the works, the Sinaljanah S-842 Strategic Airlifter. It is expected, that the S-820 will be phased out starting 2021.

Design

The S-820 can operate easily from short, unprepared airstrips (the handbook recommends a distance of 1.5 kilometers for take offs and 1.1 kilometers for landings from/on unprepared airstrips).

The S-820 can transport up to 80 tons of cargo in a 30 meter long, 4.4 meter wide cargo compartment, while up to 30 passengers find space in the forward cabin with the 5-8 men strong crew. This cabin is pressurized and equipped with both a toilet, a small kitchenette and a freezer. The rear cargo door can be opened in flight.
