Blue Dress

Finnegan Dóire of the Tribe of Sligo

Two officers of the SDF-Army, Major Marla Éan of the Tribe of Cork and Finnegan Dóire of the Tribe of Sligo, in Blue Dress.

The Blue Dress is literally blue.

Basis is a dark red shirt, above which the blue jacket is worn, buttoned up with brass buttons covered by a flap, lined in light grey. Dark blue pants with a 'half-skirt' from the belt complete the outfit. Many soldiers also wear a golden cordon on the right shoulder, with their rank insignia on both shoulders.

Both sides of the pants posses pockets, the inside of the jacket do so, too. A headdress is mostly optional, but a blue barret is provided. Seeing a man with a blue barret and a golden pin on it means Military Police.

Men and women both wear the same Blue Dress.

Army Auxillary Personell (civilian secretaries, archivists, etc.) wear a uniform much similar to this, without rank insignia or cordon, without the half-skirt, but with a blue pencil skirt for females (a "tiny miniskirt" was once proposed, but abandoned due to the backlash).

For colder environments, the Army provides a dark long overcoat, rimmed with white fur. This overcoat is purely for ceremonial services outside, although many soldiers prefer it to the dark, unfurred version of the duty uniform.

Service Uniform

The Duty Uniform is the clothing of choice for any other occassion, which the Blue Dress isn't suited for (general service, for example).

Basis is the same dark red shirt, sitting loosely and comfortably (exceptions reinforce the rule), just as the green jackets with black cuffs and black collars, both with light grey lining. Unit Patches are worn on the left upper arm. Four pockets are on the front side and a small one on the right upper arm, allowing for storage of all necessary things in a soldier's life (medpack, pay book, notebook, pencils, etc., etc., etc.).

The pants are comfortable and allowing for movement, while the heavy, dark boots cover the feet. Two hooks on the back of the jacket allow for easier carry of the backpack and a belt allows for more.

Usual headgear is either a helmet or a garrision cap, although a field cap with peak had been provided once. For colder environments, the army provides an long dark overcoat without the fur of the Blue Dress' overcoat, but the Duty Coat is uncomfortable and cold, much unlike the Blue Dress', which is preferred by a great many of soldiers for such occassions.

Men and women wear the same Duty Uniform.

Specialized Environment Uniforms

For operations in areas, in which green uniforms are inappropriate, for example deserts, the SDF has Specialized Environment Uniforms, as they are called. Pattern A are the beige desert uniforms, Pattern B the white winter uniforms,

Flight Suit

Kiah-Eitil

Brigadier Kiah Eitil of the Tribe of Wicklow in Flight Suit. SDF-Army and SDF-Navy use the same Flight Suits.

Due to the massive G-Forces when operating modern combat aircraft, the SDF introduced a Flight Suit to fit all needs, present and future, for both the Army and the Navy.
- Bicíní Industries Description of the Flight Suit.

The Flight Suit is a white, tight fitting, isolated one-piece flight suit, enabling its wearer to survive the harsh coldness of greater heights and the G-Forces presented during harsher maneuvres and higher speeds. Usually, there are no markings on the Flight Suit to identify its wearer. Women and Men wear the same suit, as do pilots of both the SDF-Army and the SDF-Navy.
